Even with excellent design, minor issues can occasionally come up with modular basketball wood flooring, and most of these problems are very easy to fix thanks to its modular structure. If you notice a small gap appearing between two panels after a long period of dry weather, you do not need to do any major repairs—just slightly adjust the indoor humidity level to bring it back to a normal range, and the wood will naturally expand to close the gap on its own. If a panel gets a small scratch on its surface, you can use a specialized wood floor repair kit to fill in the scratch and touch up the finish, and the mark will become almost invisible.
If one panel gets damaged more seriously, you can simply use a small tool to lift that single panel out of the interlocking structure, replace it with a new one, and lock it back into place in just a few minutes, with no need to disrupt the rest of the court. If the floor starts to feel slightly less grippy than usual after a long period of heavy use, you can do a light cleaning with the correct sports floor cleaner, and the non-slip finish will be restored to its original level. The most important thing to avoid is using too much water during cleaning, which can seep between the panels and cause the wood to swell—if you accidentally spill a large amount of liquid, just dry the area thoroughly with a towel and a fan, and no permanent damage will occur. Almost every common minor issue with this flooring system can be fixed quickly and cheaply, without the need for professional construction teams or long venue closures.
