Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, and today I finally got around to it. I had these cushions, right? Nice ones, but they just… slid around on my maple wooden floor. It was driving me nuts! So I thought, “I gotta fix this.”

First, I brainstormed a bit. What could I use? I didn’t want anything sticky that would ruin the floor. I thought about those rubbery shelf liners, you know, the kind you put in drawers? But I wasn’t sure if that would be enough grip.

Then it hit me! I remembered I had some of that non-slip rug padding stuff leftover from when I put down a rug in the living room. It’s like, a thin, grippy, almost web-like material. Perfect!

  • Step 1: Gather my materials. I found the roll of rug padding, some scissors, and of course, the offending cushions.
  • Step 2: Measure and cut. I basically just laid the cushion on top of the padding and cut out a square a little bit smaller than the cushion itself. I didn’t want the padding to show. Did this for each cushion.
  • Step 3: Test it out! I placed the padding squares on the floor, then put the cushions on top.

And…BOOM. Worked like a charm! Seriously, those cushions don’t budge now. They used to do this little dancing thing whenever someone sat down, but now they stay * is kind of like they are dancing on my * is so amazing!

I’m so happy with this little project. It was super easy, super cheap (since I already had the materials), and it solved a problem that was really bugging me. If you have slippery cushions, give this a try! You won’t regret it.
