Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post in the style you requested, based on the title “keel Volleyball engineer timber”:

Alright, so, this whole thing started kinda random. I was messing around with some, uh, woodworking stuff. Had a bunch of leftover timber from a previous project – you know, building that wonky bookshelf that’s still standing, surprisingly!

Then, my buddy calls me up. He’s all hyped about this volleyball net he’s trying to set up in his backyard. But the ground is super uneven. He was going on and on about needing some kind of support, something solid, so the net posts wouldn’t, like, wobble all over the place.

And it clicked! I was like, “Dude, I got all this extra wood!” So I loaded up my truck with the timber. That stuff is heavy, I’m not a body builder.

The “Engineering” Part (Kind Of)

We get to his place, and it’s worse than I thought. His yard is practically a hillside. So, we started digging. A lot of digging, It was me that did most of the digging because my buddy is, how to say this, not good with tools. We needed to make a level surface for the net posts. My back was not happy at all.

Then, it hit me. We could use the timber like a, uh… a keel! You know, like on a boat? To keep it stable? I’m no engineer, but it made sense in my head. I thought, if this works on ships, it can sure help us with this net.

We basically laid the timber down in the trenches we dug, making sure they were level(ish). Used a leveler, a real one, you can buy it from a local store. Then we packed dirt all around them, really tight. It was messy, and sweaty, and took way longer than I expected.

Volleyball Time!

Finally, we got the posts in, attached the net… and it worked! It was surprisingly sturdy. We played a few rounds of volleyball, just to test it out, of course. And, yeah, it held up. Even when my buddy (who’s a big dude) went for a spike and practically crashed into the net.

So, that’s the story. Total DIY, make-it-up-as-you-go project. Not exactly rocket science, but hey, it got the job done. We used some timber, a little bit of “engineering,” and ended up with a decent volleyball net. And all I got from it was a back pain. Not sure it’s worth it.
