Okay, here’s my blog post about installing LVL basketball court flooring, written in a casual, first-person style, as requested:

Alright, so I finally got around to tackling that project I’ve been putting off – redoing the floor in my little indoor practice court. I decided to go with LVL basketball solid wooden flooring, and let me tell you, it was a bigger job than I initially thought!

Getting Started

>

First things first, I cleared out the entire space. This meant moving all the equipment, the hoop, everything. It was like a mini-workout just getting the room prepped. Then came the fun part – ripping up the old * was a mix of some sad-looking carpet and some ancient, cracked tiles. It was time for a change, trust me.

Prepping the Subfloor

>

Underneath all that mess was just the concrete subfloor. This is super important – you gotta make sure your subfloor is level and clean. I spent a good chunk of time sweeping, vacuuming, and then patching up any cracks or uneven spots with some concrete patching compound. I let that dry completely, which took like, a whole day of waiting around. Patience is key, I guess, even though I’m not great at it.

Installing process

  • I did install a proper vapor barrier first.
  • Then, used good-quality adhesive to glue down, row by row.
  • I rented a floor nailer from the hardware store.
  • The nailer made the process faster to fix it.
  • I tried to staggered the joints between rows for a stronger, better-looking floor.
  • The edges were the trickiest. I had to use a jigsaw to cut the planks to fit around the perimeter of the room.

Finishing Touches

>

Finally all the LVL was down. I put on a few coats of polyurethane sealant. This stuff is supposed to protect the wood and give it that nice, glossy finish you see on professional * coat needed time to dry, so add another couple of days of waiting to the timeline. After all, I am quite satisfied with result.

It was a lot of work, sweat, and probably a few curse words, but seeing the finished product makes it all worthwhile.
