Alright, guys, let’s talk about my little project today – putting together a batten basketball court, you know, the wooden flooring kind. I’ve always wanted a decent practice space, and finally got around to making it happen.
First things first, I cleared out the area. This was probably the most boring part. I had to move a ton of junk, sweep the concrete slab, and make sure it was all level. No one wants a wonky basketball court, right?
Next up, I laid down the battens. These are basically long wooden strips that act like the foundation. I spaced them out evenly – got to make sure the floorboards have something solid to sit on. I had some trouble use nail,So I used some heavy-duty construction adhesive and screwed them into the concrete. Worked like a charm!
Then came the fun part – installing the actual floorboards. I got these interlocking wooden panels. It’s a little bit hard to clicked together, panel by panel. It felt like putting together a giant, wooden jigsaw puzzle. And of course, I made sure the grain of the wood was all going the same way. Gotta keep it looking good, you know?
- Clearing the space: Took longer than I thought!
- Laying battens: Adhesive and screws are my new best friends.
- Installing floorboards: Like a giant puzzle. Satisfying clicks!
After all that work it complete!, I stood back and admired my handiwork. The floor looked great, all smooth and ready for some action. Finally,I grabbed my basketball and started dribbling. The sound was amazing, that solid thump thump thump on the wood. Totally worth the effort!
It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were a few gaps here and there, and I might need to add some trim around the edges. I added some simple * now,all I need to do next is to buy a basketball hoop, so that I could truly have a good time playing basketball!
