Okay, so today I messed around with a weird combination of stuff: cushions, dancing, a rubber tree, and some timber. Sounds random, right? It totally was, but here’s how it went down.
The Setup
First, I grabbed a bunch of cushions from the couch. My goal? To create some kind of… well, I wasn’t entirely sure what at first. Just a soft, bouncy area. Then, the dancing part. I put on some music, because any project is better with a soundtrack.
The Rubber Tree’s Role
Next up was my rubber tree plant. It’s pretty tall and sturdy. I figured it could act as a kind of central pole, or maybe just something to add a little…nature to the mix. I placed it in the middle of my cushion pile.
Timber Time
The timber was a few pieces of scrap wood I had lying around from a previous DIY fail. I initially thought I’d build something, but then I decided to just use them as weights to keep the cushions from sliding around too much. Pretty basic, I know.
The “Dancing”
- Step 1: I arranged the cushions in a sort of circle around the rubber tree.
- Step 2: I wedged the timber pieces between the cushions to hold them in place.
- Step 3: I cranked up the music.
- Step 4: I jumped into the cushioned area.
Honestly, “dancing” is a generous term. It was more like bouncing and flailing around. The cushions made it surprisingly fun, and the rubber tree was just…there, looking green. I tried to get the tree to “dance” with me by gently shaking its branches, but it wasn’t very cooperative.
The Result
It was a bit silly, but it was a good way to blow off some steam. My “cushion dance floor” was a total success in terms of being a soft place to bounce. The timber did its job, and the rubber tree added a touch of the outdoors. Would I do it again? Maybe. It definitely made for a unique afternoon.
