Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your instructions:

Alright, so the other day I decided to tackle this project: putting in some cushioned volleyball flooring. It’s that pine, the kind that comes in assembled wooden panels. Sounds fancy, huh? It’s not as bad as you might think!

Getting Started

First thing I did was clear out the space. This was probably the most annoying part, honestly. Had to move a bunch of furniture, roll up the old rug… you know the drill. Once that was done, I gave the concrete subfloor a good sweep and vacuum. Gotta make sure it’s clean, or the new floor won’t sit right.

Laying Down the Cushions

Next up was the cushion layer. These came in big rolls, kinda like giant bubble wrap but way tougher. I rolled them out across the floor, making sure to overlap the edges a bit. Then I used some heavy-duty tape to secure them together and to the subfloor around the edges. You don’t want this stuff shifting around later!

Assembling the Wooden Flooring

Now for the “fun” part – the wooden panels. These things were pretty cool. They had this click-lock system, so you basically just fit them together like giant puzzle pieces. I started in one corner and worked my way across the room, tapping them gently with a rubber mallet to make sure they were snug. Make some noise,It’s fine.

  • Start in a corner: Makes it way easier to keep things straight.
  • Use a mallet: A regular hammer will dent the wood.
  • Leave a gap: You must have some space around all the edges for expansion.

Finishing Touches

Once all the panels were down, I installed some trim around the edges to cover up that expansion gap and make it look all nice and finished. And… that was pretty much it! It’s not perfect.I had some trouble, but still make it.

It took a good chunk of the day, but honestly, it wasn’t as hard as I expected. And the floor feels amazing to walk on now. Super springy and comfortable. Totally worth the effort! My back is a little stiff and I am going to apply some medicated plaster.
