Okay, here’s my blog post about setting up the LVL Basketball portable wooden flooring:
Alright, so I got my hands on this LVL Basketball portable wooden flooring kit, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a project. But a fun one! I’ve always wanted a decent court at home, and this seemed like the perfect solution. I’m not a pro builder or anything, just a regular guy who likes to get his hands dirty.
Getting Started
First thing I did was clear out the space. I mean, really clear it out. We’re talking moving furniture, sweeping, the whole nine yards. I wanted a nice, clean, level surface to start with. This was probably the most boring part, to be honest.
Next, I unpacked all the pieces. There were a LOT. It felt a bit like a giant jigsaw puzzle, but thankfully, the kit came with instructions. I laid out all the panels, trying to get a sense of how it all fit together.
Putting It Together
- I started with the base layer. These were like the foundation, interlocking pieces that formed the support structure. They clicked together pretty easily, which was a relief.
- Then came the actual flooring panels. These were the beautiful, smooth LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) pieces. I carefully connected each panel, making sure they were snug and flush. This part took some patience, making sure everything lined up perfectly.
- Some parts required a little gentle persuasion. I had my rubber mallet on standby and tapped a few stubborn pieces into place. No major force needed, just a little coaxing.
I worked my way across the space, row by row. It was actually pretty satisfying to see the court taking shape. I could almost picture myself shooting hoops already!
The Finishing Touches
Once all the panels were down, I installed the edging. This gave it a nice, finished look and helped keep everything secure. I will say that I added is that i have already prepared the area by leveling and cleaning it, making the set up really smooth.
Finally,I stood back and admired my handiwork. A brand new, portable basketball court, right in my own space! It wasn’t perfect, but I built it myself, and that’s a pretty good feeling. Now, time to grab a ball and test it out!
